Earline

I was inspired to paint this dog who was hanging out at Saluda Coon Dog Day. Coon dogs have to run at night since that's when the racoons are out and about. When a dog "trees" a coon, the hunter shines a bright light into the tree and is able to aim clearly. Hunters formerly used lanterns because flashlight batteries were too heavy to carry. It conjures quite an image.
